Here’s a must listen to for anyone from a non gun background contemplating the purchase of their first firearm.
Common sense and life experience prevails in this 20 minute podcast. It’s an old episode from GRANNY MILLER RADIO. The topic is “Choosing Your First Homestead Firearm”.
The outline of the show:
A .22 rifle is the best choice for the first firearm purchase for a non-gun owning household. A .22 rifle is affordable for most people and the ammunition is readily available and inexpensive.
There are 3 main types of .22 rifles:
- Bolt action
- Lever Action
Buy your first firearm from a reputable stocking gun store. Stay away from chain stores or big box stores like Wal-Mart.
Firearms are tools. Get proper training to use that tool.
